Operating a Mouse: Shoulder, Neck, or Arm Pain While Moving a Mouse

Moving a mouse on a work surface can aggravate shoulder, neck or arm pain. Reduction or elimination of the arm or shoulder movements needed to move a mouse would accommodate this problem. There are two approaches to this problem: supporting the arm or using a mouse that requires less hand movement.


Supporting the arm

Position the keyboard close so that you do not have to reach to type. Stablilize your arms against the sides of your chest. Some other positioning suggestions:
